Here are a few tips to give your photographer the best opportunities to capture your precious moments:
- Bride Getting Ready: Make sure you give yourself at least 2-3 hours to get ready with the people closest to you. The best order to get ready in would be to start with your hair, makeup, then putting on your dress (depending on your dress style). The reason you should get ready in this order is to give your photographer and his/her assistant an opportunity to take some detail photos of your jewelry, shoes, rings, and dress. Another reason is so that you do not get makeup on your dress, and you might be a bit uncomfortable sitting in your dress for 2 hours before the ceremony starts.
- Mom and Bride Moment: This is one of the most important moments that your photographer needs to photograph for you. One of the best ways your photographer can capture this moment, is by the mom helping the bride into her wedding dress. That is the moment that the mom really sees her little girl getting ready to commit her life to another person.
- Ring Exchange: This can happen so fast and it's so easy for the photographer to miss this. So one way you can help your photographer to get the right shot is by putting the ring on till the bend of the finger and pausing for 2 seconds and then putting the ring on all the way and again pausing for 2 seconds. This will give your photographer more than enough time to get that perfect shot.
- The Famous Kiss: This is the most important photograph your photographer needs to get. To help your photographer to get the perfect photograph for you is by kissing for at least 2 - 3 seconds. This way your photographer can not just get the shot, but also the emotional side of that moment.
If you have the right photographer, they will know all of the above and will speak to you in details about the timing of these moments. Make sure to make a list of all the most important moments that you want captured on your wedding day. Remember, planning goes a long way.
